Yamabiko Introduces the World’s First “Multi-Hybrid System” in Takizawa City, Iwate Prefecture ~ Contributing to Disaster Power Security and Decarbonization, Strengthening Regional Resilience ~

Yamabiko Corporation. (hereinafter “Yamabiko”) has installed the next-generation power supply system “Multi-Hybrid System,” which combines renewable energy utilization with stable power supply, for the first time in the world at the designated evacuation facility “Hanoki Sawayama Activity Center” in Takizawa City, Iwate Prefecture.

The Multi-Hybrid System installed at the Hanoki Sawayama Activity Center.

This system integrates solar power generation, storage batteries, and engine generators through Yamabiko’s proprietary energy management system (K-EMS). By combining multiple power sources, it ensures stable and continuous power supply even during outages or disasters. In normal times, it maximizes the use of renewable energy and contributes to decarbonization.
In Takizawa City, securing emergency power supply during disasters has been a challenge. With the introduction of the Multi-Hybrid System at the designated evacuation facility, the following have become possible:
• Providing a safe and secure evacuation environment through emergency power supply
• Enhancing regional resilience
• Promoting decarbonization through renewable energy utilization

On December 18, 2025, Yamabiko and Takizawa City held a press conference to announce the significance of this system installation and prospects. On the day of the event, Hiroshi Kubo, President and Representative Director of Yamabiko, and Tetsu Takeda, Mayor of Takizawa City, delivered their addresses. Mr. Kubo stated that this system is not merely an equipment installation but a solution that serves as a model case for regional disaster prevention. Mayor Takeda expressed his expectations that, in addition to strengthening future disaster preparedness, this initiative would also contribute to industrial development.

Following the speeches, a briefing was held in front of the actual Multi-Hybrid System installed on-site, explaining to the press the background leading to its introduction and the system’s key features. Several media representatives gathered at the venue, showing strong interest by asking numerous questions about the significance of this implementation and future developments.

Positioning this installation as a model case for building disaster-resilient communities, Yamabiko will continue to promote the introduction of the Multi-Hybrid System to municipalities and companies nationwide and further strengthen its energy solutions business.
