About reemployment of retirees and the employment of persons with disabilities
【Reemployment of retirees】 We have introduced a system where retired employees can be reemployed until age 65 if they so desire. This is intended to allow employees over the age of 60 to fully use their abundant experience, skills and abilities and also allow senior citizens to undertake fulfilling work. To respond to employees' diversifying life plans, in addition to regular full-time employment, we also provide reduced hour employment and reduced working-day employment that can be selected depending on one's work duties after reemployment. Moreover, we make efforts to increase the motivation of reemployed persons. For example, we revised our reemployment system in April 2015 and April 2022 and improved the conditions for reemployed workers. In the previous fiscal year, about 90% of retiring employees chose to be reemployed.
【Employment of persons with disabilities】 Yamabiko actively recruits persons with disabilities and is looking to expand employment opportunities for them. Working together with special needs schools, occupational support centers and Hello Work (a job center) in the community, we earnestly endeavor to provide employment and occupational support tailored to the individual's unique characteristics. As of June 1, 2022, the percentage of employees with disabilities at Yamabiko was 2.54%, as against the legally mandated employment rate of 2.3%.
