Supplying clean energy through solar power generation

The popularity of renewable energies that do not depend on nuclear power has been growing since the Great East Japan earthquake. Solar power in particular has spread to a wide range of areas due to its advantages such as making effective use of assets, ease of maintenance and ability to provide stable, long-term income from selling electricity.
Yamabiko Corporation has also been heavily affected by increases in electricity prices, so as a policy we have been studying and considering the installation of solar power generation systems that will allow us to earn stable business revenue while providing safe and reliable energy to communities. In 2015, we installed a solar power generation equipment on the land (approximately 16,000m2) adjoining our Hiroshima Plant and began the power generation business. This will lead to a reduction in CO2 compared to thermal power generation, and we intend to create a structure for supplying clean electricity to communities in a safe and efficient fashion.
*The solar cell capacity is approximately 1,100 kW, with about 4,500 panels.
In 2022, ECHO Incorporated, our US subsidiary, installed solar power generation equipment on the roof of its heavy machinery building.
Over 8,600 solar panels were installed, which are expected to produce 3.3 million kWh of electricity a year, approximately 40% of the electricity used by ECHO Inc. per year.
